A very busy and calm day in...

Honi finished her geography project today.  I loved how much she enjoyed it.  To be honest it was even better than I thought it would be.  One of my friends said how she did different ones for different members of her family with her little girl.  I think that is a really clever idea and we might try it, that is if Honi is up ever for it.

So what else did we get up to?

Chiara done some more research into the Loch Ness Monster, her current project she chose herself.  while Harmonie was mostly busy on my iPad today.  Finally I worked out how to restrict her so she doesn't go and delete all my apps!

Naomi and Honi decided to get on with some practical science.  Honi even wanted to have her own science experiment book to write out what she was doing with her experiment.

We made honeycomb and toffee too, all science of course.  Very tasty science indeed though!

Then the lego came out and then...

after all that busy business...

...Honi got one with some maths workbooks.  We haven't had the Arithmasticks out for sometime but she had loads of fun with it.

They squeezed in watching their Alice in Wonderland DVD too.  Considering we didn't go out it was an exceptionally calm day.  Everyone happy and busy.  I still hate that we were stuck in all day but I think tomorrow we'll be ok to go out, it's a shame the weather forecast says it's going to get colder.  Out is out so I won't complain.

Honi was much calmer today but there was a moment, a moment when she made me smile.  It was one of those moments when it was possible to keep her still.  I let her be until she'd finished her mad rush of energy and then when she was calm I said.  Honi you are so funny.  I do get you you know.  She said, I know in a happy little voice.  Does Daddy get you I asked.  No she said then skipped off.  He doesn't but he'll love how she turns out, I know this because he loves me! The older she gets the more I realise how alike we really are.

  1. Good stuff. The Arithmasticks look interesting, like the Cuisenaire rods good for kinesthetic learners like ours :)
